Corey Creek Raspberry Wine
I have an unopened bottle of Corey Creek Raspberry Wine sitting in my kitchen since December of last year. It's my favorite red wine, and is tied with Dr. Loosen for my all time favorite wine.
It was given to me by BFF Heads on my last birthday, during one of the most thoughtful and meaningful birthday celebrations I've ever had. We've decided that it's to be saved for a special man and a special occasion - not one or the other.
I have wines that are more expensive that I don't really care about. Those I'll open at anytime. This bottle is special. It reminds me of a special time with people with whom I share all my intimate thoughts and dreams. So it's only fitting that I wait for another special person and occasion to open it. BFF Heads and I have just decided that this special person will be male. LOL.
I won't go into details, but I'll let you know when I open the bottle. ;)
Here's to significant people...:)

How long do you have before the wine expires? I don't mean to say that it will take forever, but a lot of wine is meant to be drunk within the year or maybe it's three years. I was going to save a bottle of Yellow Tail for five years, and drink it with family the night before I would fly off on my long anticipated trip to Australia, but then I read that the wine wouldn't last that long.
Amazing. Is this a sagittarius thing? I'm a wine lover. I actually recieve emails about wine tasting parties. Do I drink? Not quite, but will indulge in a glass of merlot, zinfandel, pinot noir...and I can go on. Robert Mondavi happens to be my lover lol...I love his wines. I have bottles from 2003 and older. At my housewarming I received three bottles that are still sitting on my counter. Plan to open one on my wedding day LMAO... my grandkid will get married before I do.
"Here's to significant people" and nothing like a glass of wine to celebrate :)
I got a bottle from the bank girl on my birthday and I'm just going to drink it when ever. Women tend to save stuff up for "special occasions" too much. yall miss out on the little things that make like worth living like soda and carrot juice
I got a box of wine from the dollar store guy on my birthday and I’m waiting for the best possible moment to drink it. We’ll see. I have a whole apartment full of stuff all earmarked for “special occasions TBD”. My favorite drink combo of all time- Odwalla Carrot Juice mixed w/ Dr. Pepper” will just have to wait until said special occasions are determined. In the meantime… I find myself missing out on many little things. Perhaps my life is not worth living. Oh, Odwalla Carrot Juice and Dr. Pepper mixture… I really should pay more attention to you. I just need more special occasions.
So SE, you've inadvertently start a what wine do I have in my house discussion, so lemme join. I have a few bottles meself that I haven't gotten around to drinking yet. I've recently acquired a wine book because it's now become a hobby. So I like to buy a bottle ever so often. I'm still trying to decide which wine to purchase to keep for 5 years. Not necessarily to celebrate any special occasion but just to check out the taste then.
My special occasion is anytime I say so cuz life is filled with plenty of 'em.
never really got into the wine thing. NOt much of a drinker period really. Who wants to guide this stray? LOL
@Des: Wine expires? Where I come from there's no such thing as alcohol with an expiration date. LOL.
LOL @ Owen: bout women save things too much. Tell that to my dad who's had the same bottle of scotch sitting in our house since I was 5.
We all save things for special people and special occasions, be it our bodies (we don't go around just sleeping with anyone at anytime), money (house fund, car fund, vacation fund) or clothes (wedding dresses don't work so well in the office). A bottle of wine is no different.
@Anonymous: Lovin' the sarcasm. Hehe.
@Gela, I've gotten more into it over the past few years, especially since wine tasting has become a big event marketing tool here.
@Mr. A: Just Google "winetastings in Brooklyn" and you'll be off to a good start. I know a couple places that have regular tastings.
LOL @ pointing him to google!
