The Good, The Bad and The Jury's Still Out

So I had my date with Mr. Senegal. It was, erm...interesting. Before I say anything else, let me just say he's still gorgeous and fine. LOL. That shit is going to be my downfall. Just watch.

The Good
  • He asked me what I wanted to do and whether I liked Mexican
  • He called when he was running late
  • He paid for the date
  • He doesn't party much, doesn't drink and doesn't smoke
  • He has plans for what he wants to do with the rest of his life
  • He's well traveled, and speaks a few languages
  • He knew where Egypt was
  • We had good conversation
  • He works out and runs every day
  • He'd asked for my number from Mr. Metro (who had no problem giving it up, I might add. I'm a little miffed that he didn't put up at least a little bit of resistance. Chump! LOL)
The Bad
  • He didn't put much thought into planning the date
  • He took me to Chevy's. Call me bourgie, but I prefer that my first dates are not at places with flashing neon lights - unless it's Avenue A Sushi.
  • He invited me back to his place to "watch CSI" - on the first date
  • He lives in Jersey - that's like having a long distance relationship
The Jury's Still Out
  • He's 26, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but I just finished dating a 26 year old; many of them need teaching and prompting and I'm just not inclined. And it probably explains why we went to Chevy's and he invited me back to his place.
  • He spoke a lot about wanting to settle down and get married because he's tired of dating. Wasn't sure if he meant it, or was just telling me what he thinks every woman approaching 30 wants to hear.
  • Sent him a text the day after we went out, and he sent back a clipped response. Didn't hear from him again for 3 days, which isn't a big deal, but I'm not about that whole "waiting to call" bullshit.
I'm just gonna wait this one out and see where it goes...

ROFL ok quick draw McGraw...not a bad date per se, Chevy's may not have been my choice, but at least he tried to cater to your like. Would Don Pablos have been better? LOL

Well, the mere fact that he watches CSI makes him worthy of a bit more patience before the "ole heave-ho"...good taste in the available horrible tv line-up has to count for something, right? I mean he could've asked if you wanted to watch Flava of Love! *thud*

The clipped txt msg...hmmm...maybe you caught him in the middle of a work thing....

In any event, you plan the next date, and see how it goes.

and Jersey isn't really that far, enuh.

@ Search, Whas Don Pablos? LOL @ Quick Draw McGraw. You strike while the iron's hot. Early bird catches the worm and all that good stuff.

Oh, and he invited me to watch CSI because I said that was my favorite show. Hmmpfh. Flavor of Love. Good grief, I think I'd have to get up and leave right then...and call up Mr. I-Don't-Know-Where-Egypt-Is for a date.
@Unique: I'm a sucker for good looking guys, but my problem is I want them to be intelligent, have a nice body, dress well, and have some creativity, oh and not cheat. Maybe it really is a pipe dream. LOL.

I was about to get uppity about the 26 year old comment, but then I realised Im 27, so yeah he is such a young in.

Invited you back to his place, and says he wants to settle down...mixed messages....

And I don't like the waiting to call either, if I don't excite you enough for you to call and make an effort, well then....NEXT

28-29 seems to be the age I keep ending up dating.

Not sure what that says about me as a 39 year old woman
