The Beauty vs. The Body
So I was having a conversation with Leigh today about this topic. (Actually, he was telling me a story about an, er, aesthetically challenged woman who had an awesome body, and we kinda strayed to this topic). I initially was going to include "The Brain" in this equation, but realistically you can't really tell if someone's smart just by looking at them, so it would be an unfair comparison.
So back to the original question: All things being equal, which do men and women prefer? Do the genders differ in their preferences (can preference even be broken down by gender) or is it more based on the individual?
Say, for example you saw two people of the opposite sex standing next to each other. They were both of the same height, same hair color and style, same complexion, race, etc. Say one of them had a gorgeous face - statistically perfect, even - but their body was terrible. Say the other person had the perfect body - as if it was carved by the Creator himself - but the face looked like it was beaten with a sack of lemons. Which would you be more inclined to ask out?
I think it's really based on individual preference. I like a goodlooking guy - actually I think my looks standards are pretty high, but at the same time I'll be damned if I'd date a guy with a beer belly that's hanging over his pants, no matter how handsome he is. I don't know if I could see past the gut and the laziness (because if he has a gut, that means he's just let himself go) to even recognize how handsome he was. But that's just me.
But I had a peculiar situation where I got both the beauty and the body in one equation. This guy - we'll call him Adonis - had a body that looked like it was sculpted by God himself. It was RIDICULOUS. I've never seen a body like that in my life - and he had the looks to go along with it (he was a model). But I went out with the guy and it was like having a conversation with a brick wall. No, actually, I think the brick wall would have more personality. I was conflicted, but decided that I couldn't fuck with him, gorgeous and well-built as he was. *sigh*
Some folks would say that a bad body can be developed and molded, while there's no substitute for an ugly face...what do you think?

Neither. I get hot for folks with a fucked up face and body. More suitors for me!!!!
Well my dearest Debbie, I think that my superficiality would run me for the hot body-ugly face. As we men know, it aint nothing that a six pack can't fix. It's just a rule of thumb to put her out or leave her house before the alcohol wears off.
Oooh girl...this is a tough one. I would rather be single than be seen with either. LOL. Superficial, I know! I'm just keeping it real.
For all purposes of this most endearing blog, I would have to choose "The Beauty." You know me, I'm a project manager for a reason. I'd just consider molding him into my own perfect Vesuvian man another one of my projects. I'll get paid for it, one way or another, in the end. ;o)
